Frizbee Games
My friends and I play lots of "friz" and we make up games to play to challenge ourselves. Some people insist on spelling it "Frisbee" but to us it will always be "The Friz". Here is a list of some of the games we made up and play:| Game: | Record |
| Description: | This is a simple game where a designated player counts to see how many consecutive catches and throws can be made. |
| Rules: | If the Frisbee touches the ground, the round is over. If players catch out of order, that order must be continued. Players have 5 seconds to throw after a catch is made. |
| Minimum Players: | 2 |
| Our Two Man Record: | 162 |
| Our Three Man Record: | 56 |
| Our Four Man Record: | 19 |
| Game: | F.R.I.Z.B.E.E. |
| Description: | Players chose a location on the field, then throw the Frisbee through a football goal post. |
| Rules: | You may run up to the throwing location, but not past it. |
| Minimum Players: | 2 |
| Game: | M.I.M.B.E.E. |
| Description: | This game is similar to F.R.I.Z.B.E.E, where players chose a location on the field, then throw the frisbee through a football goal post. However, all players must copy the throw exactly. For example, "Stand on one leg, spin, then throw." |
| Rules: | All throws must be verbally expressed before executing. |
| Minimum Players: | 2 |
| Game: | Jugbee |
| Description: | Players must throw and catch the Frisbee simultaneously. |
| Rules: | When all players successful catch the Frisbee, a point is scored. |
| Minimum Players: | 2 |
| Two Man Record: | 17 |
| Three Man Record: | 6 |
| Four Man Record: | N/A |
| Game: | 8 Ball |
| Description: | Each player (or team) stands in front of a (soccer, lacrosse, or field hockey) goal at opposing sides of a field. The goals are set at a considerable distance apart, relative to the size of the goals. Players throw at the opposing goal to try and get the Frisbee into the goal. |
| Rules: | Game continues until a score of 8 is reached. However the player (or team) must win by two points. The Frisbee does not have to be 100% inside the goal; if any part of the Frisbee is past the goal line it counts as a point. |
| Optional Rules: | If the frisbee his the goal post it counts as a half of a point. The Frisbee may hit the ground or roll into the goal to score. |
| Minimum Players: | 2 |
| Ideal Players: | 4 |
| Game: | Open Friz! |
| Description: | One player stands in front of a (soccer, lacrosse, or field hockey) goal on a field. The remaining players stand at a considerable distance from the goal, relative to the goal's size. Points are scored by throwing the Frisbee into the goal. |
| Rules: | One player is the goalie, whose function is to return the Frisbee to the players. Player one throws at the goal trying to score. The first throw is a 'free throw'. If the player scores, his point is added and he becomes the goalie. If he fails to score he may throw a second time. Again, if the player scores, his score is increased by 1 point and he becomes the goalie. If he fails to score on the second throw, it becomes an "Open Friz" situation. The goalie verbally declares "Open Friz!" to all players, and then throws the Frisbee back to the players. The players may push and shove to obtain the Frisbee. The player who retrieves the Frisbee, gets control of the Frisbee and has the opportunity to throw and score. |
| Optional Rules: | If the Frisbee hits the ground, the throwing player gets to keep control of the Frisbee. Play continues until a score of 11 is reached by a player. |
| Minimum Players: | 3 |
| Mini Game: | Skeetbee |
| Description: | One player yells "pull" then another player throws a Frisbee up in the air. Other players attempt to make contact with it by throwing their own Frisbees directly at it. |
| Rules: | The Frisbee must be hit while it is still airborne for a point to be scored. If a player catches the Frisbee after two Frisbees collide, the point is revoked. |
| Minimum Players: | 1 |
| Mini Game: | Horsebee |
| Description: | A marker is set at a specific spot in the field. Other player(s) throw at it attempting to get their Frisbee as close as possible to the marker. |
| Rules: | The player's mark is set when the Frisbee stops (it may is allowed to roll to the target). For 'close calls' you may measure which disc is closer by counting footsteps or paces. If the player's disc is physically touching the marker, the player earns two points, instead of one. |
| Minimum Players: | 1 |
